Sedrak Appointed Associate Dean, School of Health and Medical Sciences
Dr. Mona Sedrak
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Mona Sedrak to the position of Associate Dean for the Division of Health Sciences in the School of Health and Medical Sciences
effective December 1, 2011.
Dr. Sedrak joined the faculty of the Department of Physician Assistant (PA)
in 2006. Since 2010, she has served as chair of the PA department. Prior to joining the Seton Hall community, Dr. Sedrak was the Associate Director of the Physician Assistant Program at Kettering College of Medical Arts for six years. She has been a physician assistant for 21 years, half of that time has been spent in PA education. Prior to entering PA education, she was a clinical administrator and a clinician.
Dr. Sedrak completed her doctoral work in Higher Education at Walden University in 2003. An accomplished author, researcher and national speaker, Dr. Sedrak’s areas of interest include generational differences within the healthcare workforce, improving study skills in undergraduate and graduate students, curriculum assessment and design and improving oral health in children and prevention of oral pathologies.
Dr. Sedrak sits on a number of national committees, including the Faculty Development Institute for the Physician Assistant Education Association. She is also a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Physician Assistant Education and serves as the chair of the Oral Health Chapter Series for the American Academy of Physician Assistant. Of notable mention is that our physician assistant graduate program was recently reaccredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. for a period of five (5) years under Dr. Sedrak’s leadership.
