Wiesel Prize in Ethics Contest
Full time juniors or seniors interested in analyzing complex ethical issues in an essay. The website provides a list of suggested topics.
Award: $5,000 for first prize; $2,500 for second prize; $1,500 for third prize; $500 for two honorable mentions.
Deadline: December 5, 2011, 5 p.m. PST

American Association of University Women (AAUW) Career Development Grants
For women who have already earned a Bachelor's degree, but are returning to school for a second Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or technical or professional training. For U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Award: Ranges from $2,000 - $12,000.
Deadline: December 15, 2011

CDM/UNCF Scholars Program 2011-12
Open to undergraduate and graduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who are majoring in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Geography, Geoenvironmental, Geographic Information Systems, Hydrology/Hydrogeology, Structural, Geotechnical, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science(s). Requires the completion of a summer internship from June 18 through August 6 2012. Students of all races may apply.
Award: Up to $6,000
Deadline: December 20, 2011

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships for Advanced Asian Language Study
Graduating seniors or recent graduates with a strong background in an Asian language and a career objective that involves its regular use. For U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Award: A stipend that covers a year of advanced language study in an approved study abroad program.
Deadline: December 30, 2011 for study starting between June 2012 and May 2013.

R2C Scholarship Program
For all students who are U.S. citizens or legal residents and age 17 or older. Requires only a very short essay to apply.
Award: $1,500
Deadline: December 31, 2011

Humane Studies Fellowship Program
Outstanding juniors, seniors and graduate students interested in researching the intellectual and institutional foundations of a free society.
Criteria: Academic performance, potential for success in scholarly field and relevance of work to fellowship mission. Requires a $25 application fee. Fellowships usually go to citizens of U.S., Canada and U.K.
Award: More than 100 awards provide up to $12,000 for undergraduate or graduate study in the United States or abroad.
Deadline: December 31, 2011

Mississippi Teachers Corps
For graduating seniors and recent graduates who are not education majors, but want to make a difference by teaching for two years at a critical needs school in the Mississippi Delta. Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
Award: Full scholarship for an M.A. in Education and a $30,000 starting salary.
Deadline: January 8, 2012

Create a Greeting Card Scholarship Contest
Submit your original artwork, photo or computer graphic to be placed on the front of a greeting card. For graduate and undergraduate students. U.S. citizenship not required.
Award: $10,000
Deadline: January 14, 2012

Pick Foundation Scholarship
For Seton Hall students with a minimum 2.5 GPA, whose parent(s) have not earned a Bachelor's degree.
Award: Up to $3,000
Deadline: January 15, 2012

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship
This prestigious award is for high-achieving juniors. Applicants must have a minimum 3.7 GPA, be in the top 25% of their class and have the ability to demonstrate their past community and/or public service, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. Candidates who become Truman Scholars are required to engage in a public service career path for at least three of the seven years following their graduate study.
Award: Up to $30,000 towards graduate-level study.
Deadline: Internal deadline is January 15, 2012. Contact Mr. Peter Hynes (peter.hynes@shu.edu) in order to gain access to the application, and for assistance in completing an application.

Goldwater Scholarship
Sophomores and juniors pursuing careers in mathematics, the natural sciences or engineering.
Minimum GPA: 3.7. Requires SHU endorsement.
Award: Funds for undergraduate tuition and other expenses, up to $7,500 annually. 300 awards per year.

Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellowship
Outstanding graduating seniors and recent graduates who have not started graduate school and who are interested in serving as research assistants to Carnegie Endowment Associates.
Criteria: essay, academic record and recommendations. Need not be a citizen but must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Award: 1-year fellowship provides a stipend of $33,000 and the opportunity to assist with Carnegie Endowment Projects, including non-proliferation, democracy training, trade, China-related issues, etc. 8-10 fellowships/ year.

AP-Google Journalism and Technology Scholarship
For U.S. citizens, 18 years or older, attending school full-time on the undergraduate or graduate level. Applicants must be a sophomore or higher with at least one year of full-time study remaining at the time of their application. Requires a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants should be involved in the creation of journalistic content with computer science elements, but no specific major is required.
Award: 6 awards of $20,000
Deadline: January 27, 2012 (11:59 p.m. ET)

United Water Corporate Scholars Program 2011
For sophomores with a minimum 3.0 GPA who are majoring in Accounting, Finance, Environmental Science(s), Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Human Resources or Mechanical Engineering. Participants serve a 10-week paid internship at United Water. Students of all races may apply.
Award: Up to $5,000 scholarship and internship salary.
Deadline: January 27, 2012

OP Loftbed Scholarship
For U.S. citizens who will be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student by January 31, 2013. Requires short, creative answers to a few questions as part of the application.
Award: $500
Deadline: January 31, 2012

DAAD-German Academic Exchange Service Undergraduate Scholarship
Sophomores and juniors with outstanding academic records who are interested in studying, doing research, or completing an internship in Germany. Proficiency in German is not mandatory. For U.S. or Canadian citizens, permanent residents or foreign nationals studying in the U.S.
Award: Scholarships provide a stipend and funds for travel, research or an internship. Supports a semester of study or an entire academic year, which runs from October through July in Germany.
Deadline: January 31, 2012 for 2012/13 academic year.

Roothbert Fund Scholarships
For graduate and undergraduate students of any major. Preference is given to those who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education.
Award: Grants are small (averaging $2,000-$3,000) and are meant to be supplementary. Aid is given for the ensuing school year.
Deadline: February 1, 2012

EMC/UNCF STEM Scholars Program 2011-2012
For sophomores and juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA majoring in Computer Science/MIS, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or Information Technology. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Participants receive a paid summer internship at the EMC headquarters in Massachusetts and are then eligible for a need-based scholarship of up to $5,000 for the following school year. Students of all races may apply.
Award: Up to $5,000, plus an internship salary
Deadline: February 1, 2012

Boren Awards for International Study - Scholarship
Undergraduates who are interested in studying abroad in regions critical to U.S. national security and working for the federal government. For U.S. citizens.
Award: Funds up to one year of study in exchange for a commitment to work for the federal government. Awards provide up to $8,000 for a summer, $10,000 for a semester, or $20,000 for a full academic year.

AFSCME/UNCF/Harvard University LWP Union Scholars Program 2011
For sophomores and juniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA majoring in American Studies, Anthropology, Economics, English, Ethnic Studies, History, Labor Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Women's Studies or Spanish. Applicants must have a valid driver's license. Participants get the opportunity to work on the front lines of a union organization campaign. Students of all races may apply.
Award: Up to $5,000
Deadline: February 28, 2012
