Measuring Up: Assessing Your Foreign Language Proficiency
Tuesday, November 8, 4:30-5:30 p.m. 

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll look at how to evaluate your language proficiency, and how to market your skills to future employers.  We will explore self-assessment and professional assessment, as well as investigate strategies used by advanced/superior level speakers to maintain their level of proficiency.

Teaching English Abroad: An Opportunity for an Extended Stay Abroad Tuesday, November 15, 1 - 3 p.m. 

Looking for a way to extend your study abroad?  In this panel discussion, we’ll hear from members of the SHU community who have lived abroad while teaching English as a Foreign Language.  You will hear firsthand accounts from people with and without  degrees in education, and will take away valuable information regarding choosing an overseas English teaching position.  

All programs take place in the Diplomacy Room, McQuaid Hall. Students of all majors and language abilities are encouraged to attend.
