Join National Bike to Work Week!

This May, the South Orange/Maplewood Bicycle Coalition (SOMbike) and the towns of South Orange and Maplewood are holding a week of special events to coincide with National Bike to Work Week.

Sunday, May 16 - South Orange Village President Doug Newman and Maplewood Deputy Mayor Fred Profeta will lead group rides through our communities, highlighting bike friendly sites. The rides will join up half way and usher in Bike to Work Week.

Monday, May 17
South Orange trustees will ride to a town meeting.

Tuesday, May 18
Maplewood Town Committee members will ride to town hall.

Wednesday, May 19
Commuters in both towns are invited to ride to the train stations.  Incentives, prizes, and giveaways will be provided to participants during the morning and evening commutes.

Thursday, May 20
Ride your bike to work!

Friday, May 21
Join SOMbike for a party to celebrate the week's success.

During the weekends prior to Bike to Work Week, SOMbike will have tables set up in both towns with bike stands to provide simple bike repairs. For more information, please contact Ellen Kahaner, Co-President, SOMbike, (973) 763-9565.
