Professor McCarthy Honored by NY City Council

Larry McCarthyProfessor Larry M. McCarthy, Ph.D., was honored on March 9 by New York City Council at the Celebration of Irish Heritage and Culture. McCarthy, associate professor of management at the Stillman School of Business, is also the current chairman of the New York Gaelic Athletic Association.

During the evening, the Council also paid tribute to the life and legacy of Senator Ted Kennedy with the presentation of the Thomas Manton Irish Man of the Year Award. Caroline Kennedy, the senator's niece, accepted the award.

Others honored during the evening include Maureen Fergus Sheehan, development director, Part of the Solution; and John O. Murphy, chairman, Irish Network NYC. McCarthy currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in Sport Marketing, undergraduate International Sport Management, and has taught Principles of Marketing, as well as Introduction to the Sport Industry.
