Paper by Rotthoff and Mayo Presented at NCAA Convention

Kurt W. Rothhof Ph.D."Coaching Costs as Tullock Costs" by Kurt Rotthoff, Ph.D., assistant professor of finance, and Ann Mayo, Ph.D.,  director of the Center for Sport Management, was presented at the NCAA's national convention in Atlanta, GA. 
 
Rotthoff presented as part of the 2010 Scholarly Colloquium on College Sports, College Sports in Recessionary Times: Assessing Challenges and Opportunities. The paper presents an explanation for the escalating salaries received by coaches in "big-time" sports.
 
Rotthoff has an M.A. and Ph.D. from Clemson University.  At the Stillman School of Business, he teaches financial analysis and economic analysis, sport finance, and financial markets and institutions.  In 2008, he was awarded both the Faculty Innovation Grant and the Stillman School Research Award.
