Chris Christie and Seventeen Other Alumni Hold Office in NJ

Following New Jersey's November 3, 2009 elections, 18 University graduates now hold Legislative office, including ten assemblymen and seven senators. Chris Christie, a 1987 graduate of Seton Hall Law School, was elected to the state's highest office, defeating incumbent Governor John Corzine.
In the Assembly, ten graduates were re-elected to office while one, Michael Doherty, J.D. '93, was elected from the Assembly to the Senate.
The six alumni who previously held seats in the Senate were not up for re-election.
