Religious Legal TheoryMsgr. Richard Liddy, Director of the Center for Catholic Studies, will speak at Religious Legal Theory: The State of the Field. Seton Hall University's School of Law will host the conference to assess the state of the field of religiously-informed legal theory and its contributions on Thursday and Friday, November 12 and 13, 2009 in Newark, New Jersey. Msgr. Liddy will discuss The Law and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition and how it relates to freedom and justice.
 
Through presentations and in-depth discussions, presenters and participants will help consolidate the advances and chart new directions for a religious perspective on law and public policy. The conference will feature five plenary speakers and twenty-four presentations of papers by legal scholars representing a wide range of religious traditions.
