The Joseph A. Unanue Latino Institute will host College to Career Seminars sponsored by The National Puerto Rican Coalition,Inc of Washington, D.C. These seminars will offer students various educational and training opportunities in different areas of career and professional development. Seminars will be conducted by leading executives and administrators in corporate America. Latino Students will be taught to use the best aspects of their multicultural skills and experiences in the business environment of today. The first seminar, Financial Literacy (November 7, 2009), will teach students about basic concepts of financial planning, money management, wealth building and credit awareness. This is one of the first seminars of its kind presented at Seton Hall University. The second seminar, Corporate Hiring (November 14, 2009), will be led by an expert in Human Resources and will focus particularly on marketing the Latino students' diversity to potential employers, improve interviewing skills and better their overall professional image. A third section will be added to include A Day in Corporate America (December 10, 2009). Students will visit Univision 41 Television Studios and headquarters to observe a typical day in Corporate America. This visit will also allow students to meet other corporate executives, receive career advise, and hear personal testimonials about their rise up the corporate ladder. These seminars will provide students with unique opportunities to enhance their leadership, management, financial and communication skills, all aiming to prepare Latino students for the challenges of the corporate world. A Day in Corporate America Thursday, December 10, 2009 Visit/Trip to Univision 41 Television Studios Bus leaves from Farinella Main Gate @ 10 a.m. returns at 2:00 p.m. This section is limited to the first 15 registrants confirmed.
