The Whitehead School continues to extend its global reach by welcoming mid-career professionals from permanent missions to the United Nations as advanced students in its Masters Degree program in Diplomacy and International Relations. Dahham Al Muttairi and Abdulrahman Al Mazhoud, diplomats from the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the U.N. and M.A. candidates at the Whitehead School, invited School colleagues to join them in attending a Saudi National Day Reception on October 6, 2009. This year's celebration marked the 79th anniversary of the national day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the U.N., Ambassador Khalid A. Al Nafisee, hosted the reception held at United Nations Headquarters in New York, N.Y. In attendance were His Excellency Ban Ki-moon, Secretary-General of the U.N., as well as guests from diplomatic and U.N. communities. Whitehead School guests included Ambassador John K. Menzies, Dean; Dr. Ursula Sanjamino, Associate Dean; Dr. Catherine Ruby, Director of Graduate Admissions; and Abdulaziz Al Salloom, a Whitehead School graduate student.
