On Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at approximately 12 noon the Seton Hall main campus will be conducting a test of both the Emergency Siren System and the PirateAlert Emergency Notification System.
The siren system is designed to alert the campus community of an emergency situation that requires them to seek shelter for safety. If the siren is activated in an actual emergency, persons on campus should immediately seek shelter in a secure room within the nearest building and quietly monitor their cell phone and/or email for updates broadcast via the PirateAlert Emergency Notification System.
The siren test will be immediately followed by a test of the PirateAlert system. The test message will be sent to students, faculty, and staff via multiple communications methods including voice cell phone, text messaging, broadcast e-mail, and landline telephone. It is important that you follow the directions included in the message to acknowledge receipt of the message.
Thank you for your cooperation with this important test of the Emergency Siren System and PirateAlert Emergency Notification System.
