This October the Baum School of Art in Allentown, PA is presenting a show of new paintings and drawings by Seton Hall University's adjunct professor William Hudders.
Professor Hudders was a student at the Baum School of Art at a very young age and was also the recipient of a merit scholarship in 1976. Many of his first experiences with the creation and understanding of the art making process began at the Baum School of Art. Rudy Ackerman was his first teacher, followed by the influence of many others.
This show is titled "The Art of Observation" and includes over twenty new paintings and drawings created within the last year. This new group of paintings was created after Professor Hudders received a Pollack Krasner grant in 2007-2008. The grant allowed him the time to work undisturbed on his paintings and create a new and wide ranging body of work, all created from direct observation.
This show will open on Thursday, October 8, 2009 with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m., and will run through Friday, October 30, 2009. The Baum School of Art is located at 510 W. Linden St. in Allentown, PA directly across from the Allentown Art Museum. The gallery is closed on Sundays.
