UFS Rector Addresses Higher Ed Challenges in South Africa

Professor Jonathan Jansen, Vice-Chancellor and Rector of the University of the Free State (UFS) in South Africa, will deliver a lecture on the challenges facing higher education in South Africa at a 26 October colloquium sponsored by the Department of Education Leadership, Management and Policy. The colloquium will be chaired by Prof. Joseph Stetar who received an honorary doctorate from the UFS in 2002 and where he also serves as a Professor Honorarius.
 
The UFS is one of South Africa's leading research universities enrolling more than 18,000 students in a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. Prof. Jansen received his Ph.D. from Stanford and his most recent book is Knowledge in the Blood (2009 Stanford University Press).
