Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Requirement
Seton Hall > News & Events

Effective October 1, 2009, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has mandated that all persons supported by NSF funding (faculty, researchers, postdoctoral researchers and undergraduate and graduate students) must received Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training in order to conduct research.

The Office of Grants and Research Services (OGRS) has registered with Center on Materials and Devices for Information Technology Research (CMDITR) for access to its website for Responsible Conduct of Research Interactive Tutorial for Education Institutions. OGRS is subject to review by NSF and must verify that all persons supported by NSF to conduct research have received RCR training. The CMDITR website will provide the NSF mandated training and testing for all persons affiliated with Seton Hall University who are working on NSF funded research projects.

To register, please visit the RCR Tutorial page, select “user account registration form” to get to the “New User Registration” page and complete the New User Registration Form. You must create an account under an existing registered group so please select Seton Hall University as your affiliated group. You must complete the RCR modules and accompanying testing before you engage in any research activities funded by NSF.

If you have any questions, please contact Gregory Burton at extension 9362 or Franklin Williams at extension 2977.
