Seton Hall Student Interns at Goldman
Seton Hall > News & Events

Nick Marsillo's (ECON '10) advice to landing an internship, “ is to develop a plan.” He advises others to “write down exactly where you see yourself and what you want to get out of an internship. Think about the specific companies for which you would like to work and get on the internet and check out their websites."

So far Nick's plan is working pretty well. He spent spring 2009 interning with the NY Jets in their Accounting & Finance department. This experience led to his being one of three Seton Hall students selected for Goldman Sachs' highly selective summer internship program. It took several months of applications and interviews but he was finally offered a position in their Internal Audit division. It's a ten week paid summer analyst position where Nick is assigned to one of several teams. In addition to real work assignments, interns are expected to work on a group project and present it to the department at the end of the summer.

Nick feels grateful to have two strong internships on his resume. He tells students to remember to always use the resources readily available and talk to those willing to help you out.  “Also, and I cannot stress this enough, take advantage of the Career Center,” Nick says, “it was just helpful to be able to talk about my background with a business professional and find out how my strengths match the needs of corporations today.”
