East Coast Computer Algebra Day (ECCAD) is a yearly meeting in the Eastern United States where researchers present recent work in computer algebra. The May 2, 2009 meeting consisted of poster presentations and plenary talks. Manfred Minimair, Ph.D., Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Seton Hall University, presented joint work with Deepak Kapur, Ph.D., Department of Computer Science, Macaulay matrices. This work has applications in areas where one needs conditions for multiple solutions of systems of equations, such as graphics modeling, robotics, molecular geometry, and other related topics.
