M.S. Thesis Research to be Presented at a National Conference Seton Hall > News & Events Wednesday, May 6, 2009 by: Sulie L. Chang, Ph.D. As per a nomination of Dr. Sulie L. Chang, director of the Institute of NeuroImmune Pharmacology and member of the Asian American Pacific Islander Workgroup, National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Marley D. Kass, M.S. '09 has been invited as a Travel - Early Career Investigator to attend the 10th Hawai`i Addictions Conference and the 2nd National Institute of Health American Asian and Pacific Islanders Scientific Conference at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 11-12, 2009. Her registration and travel expenses to Honolulu have been provided by NIDA's Office of Special Population.
In addition to the training and education in addiction and related-issues, particularly focusing on recent research and culturally relevant treatments among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders that Ms. Kass will receive from attending this meeting, under Dr. Chang's supervision, Ms. Kass will be presenting a poster entitled "Cross Sensitization Between the Behavior Sensitizing and Anxiety-Like Effects of Methamphetamine is Enhanced in the HIV-1 Transgenic Rat". Ms. Kass will exchange her experimental data with other researchers, clinicians and students at the Hawaii Addiction and AAPI Conference. Ms. Kass is receiving her Master of Science in Experimental Psychology
with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience at Seton Hall
University on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Dr. Sulie L. Chang and Dr. Michael
