HOLD THE DATES! Neil Simon Comedy Coming in April to SOPAC! Seton Hall > News & Events Wednesday, April 15, 2009 by: Deirdre Yates The Seton Hall Theatre 2008-2009 season concludes with the uproariously funny production of “God's Favorite” by Neil Simon at the South Orange Performing Arts Center on April 23, 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. with matinees at 2 p.m. on April 25 and 26. Tickets available at SOPAC box office by calling (973) 313-ARTS (2787). Ticket prices are: $15 General $12 Seniors/Alumni $8 Students/Staff $5 Student rush tickets (1/2 hour before curtain) Based on the Book of Job, the play takes place at the Benjamin mansion on the North Shore of Long Island, where resides a tycoon, his wife, a drunken, prodigal son, a pair of kookie twins and two servants. Then one night a messenger from God enters to tell Joe that he is God's favorite and all he needs to do is renounce God. Joe refuses and thus begins a series of tragic but hysterical events. Amid these seemingly impossible circumstances, Simon poses some large questions about life, but never loses his wonderful sense of humor. This is one of Neil Simon's funniest! The Seton Hall Theatre is part of the Seton Hall Arts Council.
