Students representing Seton Hall's collegiate Model United Nations Association claimed a record seven awards at the recent Virginia International Crisis Simulation conference, held at the University of Virginia. “In all the years that the Seton Hall United Nation's Association has existed, we've never had such a successful year.” explains SHUNA president and Whitehead School senior, Kate Bogan.  The team competed against delegates from schools around the country in crisis simulations, using standard parliamentary procedures and United Nations format. Senior Christopher Colgan, representing the historic 1956 Soviet space program, won the coveted Best Delegate award.

Seton Hall's team has attended four conferences this year, competing against schools such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton and the University of Chicago.

In addition to Chris Colgan, the VICS winners included Marie Bridgeman, Kelsey Coolidge, Samantha Graham, David Millar, Legna Perez, Brendan Roache and Sara Shedeed.

Bogan notes that the team is young and shows a lot of promise. “Three of our winners are freshman, two are sophomores, and two are juniors,” she explains.  “Clearly we have a bright future ahead.”
