Nearly 30 new members were inducted into the Stillman School's chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), the international business honor society, on Tuesday, April 11. At this induction, the chapter also celebrated its silver anniversary.
"We're excited to be celebrating the 25th anniversary of our Beta Gamma Sigma chapter," says Leigh M. Onimus, J.D., assistant dean of undergraduate assessment and special projects and BGS chapter adviser. "Through the years, we have inducted more than 1,000 members, and we continue to strive to be an active chapter of this prestigious honor society."
Membership invitations are extended to juniors in the top 7 percent, seniors in the top 10 percent or graduate students in the top 20 percent of their graduating classes.
Following the induction ceremony, the Stillman School honored Thomas Basilo '71, chairman and CEO of WithumSmith+Brown Global Assurance, LLC (WS+B GA).
"Tom has been a leader in driving our Center for Entrepreneurial Studies forward, helping to develop coursework in entrepreneurial studies and forming an advisory board of professionals to inform on curriculum and program initiatives," Onimus says. "His vision and leadership are invaluable to the program."
BGS serves business programs accredited by AACSB International The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Membership is the highest recognition a business student can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.
