Seton Hall University has been selected as a finalist to compete in the New York Society of Investment
Research's (NYSSA) 4th Annual . Nine teams — including Seton Hall, New York University, Columbia, Yale, Rutgers, Baruch, Fordham, Pace and St.John's — entered into the competition this year.
Seton Hall is one of the top four finalists along with New York University, Fordham and Baruch. The finals will be held at Bloomberg LP in New York City on Thursday, April 20, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The winning team will be announced after each team makes its presentation.
This accomplishment is made even more special by the fact that Seton Hall is the only team with a mix of graduates and undergraduates. The team includes the following students:
Yvonne Huang: Finance – MBA Candidate
David Meisner: Finance – BBA Candidate
Bradford Muller: Finance and Legal Studies – BBA Candidate
Mark Stodden (Team Leader): Finance – MBA Candidate
Matthew Walters: Accounting, Finance, and Management – BBA Candidate
The Stillman School team is led by their faculty adviser, Eleanor Xu, Ph.D., associate professor of finance. She is a Chartered FinancialAnalyst (CFA) and a member of the American Finance Association (AFA). Xu teaches in the areas of equity investments and fixed income analysis. Her research interests are in hedge funds, venture capital, security market micro structure and mortgage-backed securities. She has published over twenty research articles in journals such as Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Analysts Journal, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Futures Markets, Financial Review, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and Journal of Investing.
