“The Spiritual Journey in Christian Fiction” Online Course  

Gregory Yuri GlazovLearn more about great spiritual literature this fall from our new online graduate course in the convenience of your home!  The Spiritual Journey in Christian Fiction will be taught by Gregory Y. Glazov, D.Phil.

This online course will explore various hero figures in folklore, myth, classical literature and popular film.  It considers the themes of spiritual pilgrimage and mission, trial and martyrdom, solitude, heroic struggle, friendship and companionship in ordinary life.  The literature and films surveyed include the works of writers such as Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, Dostoyevsky and Solzhenitsyn, and the folktales, myths and legends that inspired these writers. The aim of the course is to aid Christian reflection on the nature of spiritual adventure and instill skills of conversation to assist in teaching, ministry, chaplaincy, group work and leadership training.

Dr. Gregory Glazov is Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology at Seton Hall University.  Dr. Glazov specializes in Old Testament Studies and in Second Temple Literature. He teaches graduate-level classes on the New and Old Testament and has published numerous books and articles on topics related to the study of Sacred Scripture.
