Center for Global Education Mission

The Global Education Mission

Our primary mission is to advance knowledge of global issues, build skills and develop dispositions among Seton Hall students, elementary and secondary school students and domestic and international educators in order to promote global civic competence. Without the benefit of high quality educational experiences to support this learning, American students may not be ready to meet the challenges ahead.

The Center generates curriculum materials and research that will be useful in assisting educators across America, and internationally, in identifying content and methodology to advance the aims of global studies. In addition, the model of collaboration, both within the university and with partner schools, is a valuable exemplar.

The mission of the Center is also consistent with that of Seton Hall. "Seton Hall is a major Catholic university. In a diverse and a collaborative environment it focuses on academic excellence and ethical development. Seton Hall students are prepared to be leaders in their professional and community lives in a global society and are challenged by outstanding faculty, an evolving technologically advanced setting and values-centered curricula."
