About Many Are One
The Many Are One Alumni Awards Gala is Seton Hall's annual premier black tie event. Proceeds from the event support the Alumni Association's Endowed Scholarships for children, grandchildren, and siblings of Seton Hall alumni who follow in their family's footsteps by attending Seton Hall. Awards and Recognition
In June 2010,
Monsignor Robert Sheeran will step down from the presidency of Seton Hall after serving with distinction for 15 years. His vision for the oldest diocesan university in the United States has been to imbue Catholic higher education with excellence in forming today’s students as tomorrow’s servant leaders for a global society.
Under Monsignor Sheeran’s stewardship, the University has attained higher rankings and greater national prestige, and an array of new academic majors, programs and centers have been instituted. The graduate schools of Law, Health and Medical Sciences, Nursing and Education have also achieved increased prominence and recognition.
Other milestones include the creation of a bold new undergraduate core curriculum; the founding the John C. Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations; and a national award for the University’s creative use of technology in the teaching and learning environment. A $150 million fundraising campaign, the most successful in the University’s history, capped the celebration of its 150th year and has positioned Seton Hall for even greater progress in its Catholic mission.
A 1967 Seton Hall alumnus, Monsignor Sheeran was ordained in Rome in 1970. He has devoted 30 of his 40 years as a priest to Seton Hall in a variety of administrative and pastoral positions.
