Ethically complex, yet medically promising, advances in the two scientific fields of stem cells and cloning will be explored.

Guest lecturers include:

Reverend Tad Pacholczyk, Ph.D.
Director of Education, The National Catholic Bioethics Center
Father Tad Pacholczyk is a priest of the diocese of Fall River, Massachusetts.  As an undergraduate he earned degrees in philosophy, biochemistry, molecular cell biology and chemistry and did laboratory research on hormonal regulation of the immune response.  He later earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Yale University.  Father Tad also worked for several years as a molecular biologist at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.  Father Tad studied for 5 years in Rome where he did advanced work in dogmatic theology and in bioethics. 

Hans E. Geisler, M.D
Dr. Hans Geisler trained at the Stritch School of Medicine of Loyola University of Chicago and served as director of the gynecologic tumor service of Indiana University of Medical Center. A Knight of the Order of Malta, Geisler has also testified before a state legislature. He is a frequent lecturer on stem cell research and cloning to parishes and groups, who often seek his expertise to explain the distinctions between embryonic and adult stem cells.
