Parking and Transportation

Parking

Disability Support Services partners with the Office of Parking Services to assist with the provision of accessible parking in University parking lots. The location of accessible parking spaces can be viewed on the University's Parking Map.

Accessible parking spaces are limited to faculty, staff, students, and guests with state-issued handicapped parking privileges. The individual who received the handicapped parking permit must accompany the vehicle in order to qualify for use of an accessible parking space.

Seton Hall community members who require handicapped parking must purchase and display their SHU parking permit. The state-issued handicapped license plates or hangtag must also be displayed. Failure to display a valid Seton Hall parking permit will result in your vehicle being ticketed, towed or booted.

Guests with state-issued handicapped parking must display their SHU Guest Permit in addition to their handicapped license plate or hangtag.

Accessible Parking for Individuals with Temporary Disabilities
Individuals with a temporary disability who wish to park in designated handicapped parking locations must do the following:

  • Go to your local police station to get an application. You must have your doctor certify that you need the placard.
  • Return the completed application to the police department with the required fee payable to Motor Vehicle Commission.
  • Upon payment, the police department will issue your temporary placard.

This policy conforms to New Jersey state law; learn more »
