Sports Media: College of Communication and the Arts

Get in the game with a minor in Sports Media: Fall 2018
Sports media professionals work on-air as television and radio broadcasters, behind the camera as directors and producers, on the field calling games or as sports journalists. This uniquely collaborative program will incorporate existing programs within the College – Journalism, Visual and Sound Media – as well as provide students with hands-on opportunities with the Stillman School of Business' Center for Sport Management, the Seton Hall Sports Poll, Athletics' Pirate Sports Network (PSN) and our award-winning student-run radio station, WSOU 89.5 FM.

Professional-in-Residence B.J. Schecter is leading this program with exceptional expertise based on his illustrious 25 year career in sports media with The Boston Globe, Sports Illustrated and Baseball America.

Innovative Curriculum

Interdisciplinary courses in this program will include Introduction to Sports Media, Sports, Media and Culture, Sports Media and Public Relations, Professional Sports Franchises and Sports Law to name a few.
