Jeffrey MorrowThird Faculty Retreat, Learning and Experience: The Academic Life as a Spiritual Discipline
Directed by Dr. Jeffrey Morrow

This retreat will discuss the academic life as a spiritual discipline.  Both learning and experience make important contributions not only to the professional aspects of academic life, but also to its spiritual dimensions.  Growth in learning and experience can be transformed into growth in the spiritual life through practicing the presence of God.  In this retreat, philosopher Simone Weil and Carmelite Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection will be our main guides.

Jeffrey Morrow, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Theology at Seton Hall's Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology.  He earned his doctorate in Theology from the University of Dayton.  His research interests include the history of modern biblical criticism as well as theological biblical interpretation.
