ARC Carnivals DOVE reaches out to the various organizations
affiliated with the Association for Retarded Citizens (ARC) and group homes
throughout Essex County. This night caters to guests with special needs,
offering a night of carnival games, prizes, refreshments and music.Past themes have included Halloween,
Valentine's and a Luau.
Senior's Prom Working with the seniors from Adopt a Grandparent, DOVE hosts an evening social with music provided by a DJ, refreshments and a chance to mingle with SHU volunteers.
Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week A week devoted to advocacy and information about
hunger and homelessness.Past programs
have included a Hunger Banquet, Faces of the Homeless Panel (young, homeless
speakers invited from Covenant House), Food Weighing, Soup Kitchen and a Movie
Night.
Food and Turkey Drive As a part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, DOVE coordinates a campus wide food drive. Items collected are donated to St. John's Soup Kitchen, Newark.
Christmas Toy Drive / Toy Wrapping Party Seton Hall students, faculty and staff have been
committed to providing a memorable Christmas to over 200 children in
need. Through the generosity of the Seton Hall community, gifts are
collected, wrapped and shipped to both Appalachia and local families.
Public Service Month / Servant Leader Awards Public Service Month (February) is an annual
celebration of Seton Hall's servant leadership mission and commitment to
service.The Servant Leader Awards
recognize students with a particular dedication to service; nominees go through

Releasing the DOVEs: Philadelphia The Philadelphia service trip was created to address issues of hunger and poverty in our own country. Students spend a weekend at the St. Francis Inn in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. The Inn provides a restaurant-style soup kitchen to some of Philadelphia’s poorest residents.
