The Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey (CPNJ) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities and other special needs by supporting personal growth, independence and participation in the community.

Mondays, 4:45 - 6:30 p.m. (Group home: adults with special needs)

Volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer at a local Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey group home, spending time with adults with developmental disabilities.

A typical volunteer session will include a pre-planned activity, such as a craft project, game or music.


Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.
(Horizon School - children with special needs)

Volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer at Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey’s Horizon School, spending time with children with disabilities in grades K-2.  Volunteers will work one-on-one with students during ABC Studio, an alphabet art program held in Horizon School’s Center for Literacy and Volunteerism.

A typical volunteer session will begin with the introduction of the letter of the week through storybook reading and music and motor activities, and culminate with a tactile craft project.

Thursdays, 3:45 - 5:15 p.m. (Recreation center - adults with special needs)

Students will have the opportunity to volunteer at CPNJ’s afterschool / afterwork recreation program, spending time with children and adults with developmental disabilities.

A typical volunteer session will include a pre-planned activity, such as a craft project, game, music or community outing.
