Senior Vice President
Steven Karl ’83 is head of business process transformation for TD Bank, headquartered in Mahwah, New Jersey. In this role, he is responsible for leading the buildout of the digitization and automation capabilities that will drive large-scale change across the bank. With more than 30 years of experience, Karl also leads company efforts to differentiate TDBank from its competitors.
Following a 20-year career with American Express Co., ending as the senior vice president of IT and business operations, Karl led global customer and data operations for Dun & Bradstreet. Most recently, he led customer advocacy and process improvement as a managing director with JPMorgan Chase Mortgage Banking, focusing on policies, processes and workflows to deliver a great customer experience, eliminate inefficiencies and improve control.
Additionally, Karl founded Performance Ridge Consulting, a company that delivers IT transformation and business process re-engineering solutions.
A proud Pirate, Karl remains involved in the Seton Hall community, serving as a member of the President’s Advisory Group for the Stillman School of Business as well as the Bayley Society, and he is a regular season ticket holder of the men’s basketball team.
For his accomplishments as a leader in business, his commitment to improving bank services and his dedication to Seton Hall, the Stillman School presented Karl with the 2018 Many Are One Service Award.
Karl lives in Montclair, New Jersey, with his wife, Jessyca, his sons Daniel and Jacob, and daughters Seryn and Civanna.
