Philosophers Speak Lecture Series: Jessica Moss on 'Plato and Fake News'

This lecture brings to campus Dr. Jessica Moss, Professor of Philosophy at New York University. Dr. Moss will discuss "Plato On Why We Believe Fake News."

Jessica Moss is a professor of philosophy at New York University. Her research interests are in ancient philosophy, with a focus on ethics and psychology in ancient philosophy. Her book Aristotle on the Apparent Good: Perception, Phantasia, Thought, and Desire was published by Oxford University Press in 2012. Notably, her article "Akrasia and Perceptual Illusion" was chosen for the 2009 Philosopher's Annual, which picks out the ten best articles published in philosophy each year. Dr. Moss also appeared on the hugely popular Philosophy Bites podcast to discuss weakness of the will.
