On November 30, 2017, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in Fahy 236 the Slavic Club, will present Professor Artem Kalyanov's lecture, "A Glimpse Into the Russian Language and Tips on How to Master It," a lecture on practical strategies for mastering the Russian language.
Professor Kalyanov is a Russian Professor in Seton Hall's Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. This lecture aims to broaden current and prospective students' knowledge on the structure of the Russian language from its lexicographic, phonetic and grammatical perspectives in comparison with the English language. The main objective of the lecture is to introduce the audience to some practical strategies, share tips and techniques on mastering vocabulary, grammar and exercises to improve pronunciation.
Professor Kalyanov will share his experience in learning foreign languages and will teach the attendees part of the Russian alphabet.
In addition to the presentation, there will be a Jeopardy game based on the lecture. We are going to divide into two teams. Everyone will receive a booklet containing facts about the Russian language and recommendations on how to "befriend" it.
Students majoring in foreign languages and diplomacy are encouraged to attend. The event is free, and everyone is welcome! Slavic food will be served.
