Transfer Application Review Process
Seton Hall uses a rolling admissions process. Applications are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis beginning in early January for the Fall Semester and early November for the Spring Semester.
In general, Seton Hall admits students who have maintained a cumulative GPA of above 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) at an accredited institution of higher learning. Note: certain majors may require a higher GPA.
Seton Hall University policy states that any student who has previously applied for and been denied admission to Seton Hall, cannot reapply for admission for a one-year period as either a matriculated or non-matriculated student. University policy also does not permit admission to any student who has been put on probation or dismissed for any reason from another institution for a one-year period following the probation/dismissal ruling.
Transfer Scholarships
Incoming transfer students are automatically considered for our Transfer Scholarships. Awards range from $5,000 to $10,000 per year. Transfer students are eligible for scholarships if they have a 3.0 GPA and enroll full-time at Seton Hall University.
Member of Phi Theta Kappa?
Transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society are automatically awarded an additional $2,000 scholarship. Proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership, is required.
Nursing Transfer Requirements (Traditional BSN)
Minimum College GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
If students have a
college GPA between 3.2-3.49 (on a 4.0 scale), SAT scores will be
evaluated to determine whether student meets criteria to be admitted as a
Nursing major.
Students with a college GPA between 3.2-3.49 (on a
4.0 scale), who are not admitted directly to the Nursing Major, will be
admitted into the university as Pre-Nursing Transfer Students and will
be assigned 12 credit hours in a curriculum approved by the College of
Nursing. If the student achieves a minimum 3.0 GPA that semester, they
will be signed into the Nursing major.
PT/PA/AT Transfer Students
Transfer students applying for physical therapy, physicians assistant and
athletic training will be considered for admission to Seton Hall with a major of
Biology. Once accepted and enrolled, you will have the opportunity to apply to
the dual degree program of your choice. The decision will be made by evaluating
your performance at Seton Hall combined with your performance at your previous
institutions. If you do not meet the requirements of the dual degree program, it
is recommended that you complete your Biology undergraduate degree and reapply
as a graduate applicant. Acceptance to the Biology program does not guarantee
acceptance to the dual degree program. Approximately seventy percent of the
students who are accepted into the Biology program move forward with the dual
degree program of their choice.
