Second degree-seeking undergraduate students must have declared majors different from the major in which they have already earned a degree.

Second Degree Nursing

Seton Hall University offers a Second Degree Nursing Program which is designed for aspiring nurses who already hold a baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing major. The second degree program allows students to graduate with a B.S.N. in 22 months.

Seton Hall University also offers an Accelerated Nursing Program located on Georgian Court University’s campus which is designed for aspiring nurses who already hold a baccalaureate degree in a non-nursing major. The accelerated program allows students to graduate with a B.S.N. in just 14 months. The application deadline for these programs is April 1.

Prerequisites:

In order to apply to the Second Degree Nursing Programs, students must have taken the prerequisites listed below and earned a C or better in those courses. The College of Nursing requires applicants to have at least five of the prerequisite classes completed before filing an application for admission.

  • Anatomy and Physiology 1
  • Anatomy and Physiology 2
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Statistics
  • Developmental Psychology (covering lifespan)
  • Ethics (Healthcare Ethics preferred)

Acceptance of this coursework is subject to approval by Seton Hall University.
