Financial Aid Calculator

Take a minute to fill out our financial aid calculator, and we'll give you an estimate of the aid package you're likely to receive from Seton Hall.

What Can You Tell Me?
Based on your high school academic performance and some information about your family's financial situation, we'll tell you the following.

  • Total Financial Aid Package: how much money per year you will likely receive from all financial aid sources, including scholarships, grants and loans.
  • Scholarships and Grants Contribution: how much of your total financial aid package that we estimate will come from scholarships and grants. The remainder will come from loans.
  • Total Return on Investment: how much money you can expect to earn in your lifetime based on your choice of major. College is expensive, but your earning power increases dramatically once you have a degree.

How Do I Use the Estimator?
You'll need to complete the following fields.

  • GPA: Your cumulative high school grade point average, based on a 4.0 scale.
  • SAT: Your combined reading and math SAT score, out of 1600.
  • NJ Resident: Will you be a resident of the state of New Jersey at the time you plan to apply to Seton Hall?
  • Number in Household: How many people live in your household?
  • Number in College: How many members of your household, including you, will be enrolled in any college or university?
  • Household Income: What is your total household income? Please enter only an integer. For example, if your household income is $35,000, please enter 35000.
  • Major: To estimate your lifetime earnings, you need to choose a major. You're free to try out different majors to see how your return on investment will change.

Additional Notes

Approximately 90 percent of students receive some form of financial aid and a wide range of merit-based scholarships are available. For the 2006-2007 academic year, 72 percent of the incoming freshman class received a merit scholarship.

Students who graduate with a high school GPA of at least 3.5 (out of 4.0) and an combined SAT score greater than 1400 automatically receive a tuition and fee scholarship. This merit scholarship is not included in the financial aid estimate. Work hard and your financial aid package may be even better than we estimate here.

The estimates provided are based on 2007-08 financial aid packages. Financial aid may not be funded at the same levels for the 2008-09 academic year.

You must apply for financial aid by the March 1, 2008 priority deadline in order to receive aid for the 2008-09 academic year.

The calculator figure does not take into account any liquid assets, including cash, saving, checking accounts, investments, untaxed benefits, tax-deferred or untaxed income. Your actual financial aid eligibility will be determined by subtracting the your expected family contribution from the cost of attendance. Seton Hall will estimate your eligibility annually. Your expected family contribution will be calculated by the U.S. Department of Education upon completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
