The Pre-Theology Program is designed to prepare students for full-time
study in Theology towards a Master of Divinity. Those who do not have sufficient preparation in Philosophy and Theology are required
to go through this program.
A Unique Approach
The Pre-Theology Program provides a sequence of courses that satisfies all
the preparatory requirements for admission to major seminary study in
accordance with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops'
Program of Priestly Formation (Fifth Edition, 2005).
Classes are held on the Seton Hall University campus. Seminarians
live in community in Lewis Hall.
Who Should Apply?
Students preparing for priestly ordination who possess an undergraduate
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, but who do not have sufficient
preparation in Philosophy and Theology.
The 2-year program consists of a variety of courses in language,
philosophy, theology, and biblical studies.
The Pre-Theology student will be prepared adequately for graduate-level
theological studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary.
