Creative Writing Workshop I

Week I:  July 7- 11 
MTWRF 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Main Campus South Orange

Tuition $699

 This non-residential summer workshop for high school students and rising high school freshmen will allow students to explore the creative writing process in a supportive and encouraging environment. Participants will be encouraged to create in the genre of most interest to them (fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, drama). The workshop environment will be supplemented by guest speakers, fun activities, and will conclude with a presentation of student work to the group. The workshop is limited to 15 students, and two full-time Seton Hall writing instructors will provide individualized attention.

Week II: July 14 - 18

High school students and rising high school freshmen will dive deeper into their creative imagination by exploring in-depth the creative writing process. Students will be encouraged to  develop their voices and writing ideas, explore different genres, work on their own writing projects and get supportive, constructive writing critique from instructors and peers.  Students need not enroll in Creative Writing Workshop I in order to take Workshop II. The workshop is limited to 15 students, and two full-time Seton Hall writing instructors will provide individualized attention.


Introduction to Program Design I/ Video Game Programming I

June 30, 2014 - July 18, 2014

Do you daydream in video? Now you can do more than just imagine that next impossible level -- you can turn it into simulated-reality! Intro to Program Design I gives you hands-on coursework that teaches you what it takes to create images and animations and construct your own interactive video game. It's also a great introduction to Computer science!

 Introduction to Program Design II/Video Game Programming II

July 21, 2014 - August 15, 2014
MTWRF, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

So you've mastered the basics and you're hungry for more. Intro to Program Design II will show you how to program robust game mechanics, designing levels, characters, and multiple player interaction. You will simultaneously strengthen your skills in Computer Science as a programmer, animator, and designer, and leave with an advanced tool-set for real world success.


College Credit Courses

Looking to get a jumpstart on college and strengthen your college applications? 

Eligible high school students can earn college credit and prepare for college-level work by taking courses at Seton Hall University this summer! 

High school students who will be entering their junior or senior year have the opportunity this summer to earn college credit by taking academically rigorous, college level course-work at a fraction of the cost (50% off regular tuition rate).
