Overview

Seton Hall University's online Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) - Nurse Practitioner program is a graduate program offered through the College of Nursing, one of the region's most prestigious academic institutions. The College of Nursing established New Jersey's first baccalaureate nursing program in 1937 and has provided quality education for more than 65 years. In 1975, the College established the graduate program to address the needs of modern healthcare delivery and the in-depth preparation necessary to educate nursing professionals. The College is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

As a student in the online Master of Science in Nursing, you truly get the best of both worlds: a dynamic Web-based learning experience grounded in the 150 year history and tradition of Seton Hall University.  Faculty within the University's traditional, on campus M.S.N. - Nurse Practitioner program also teach in the online program.

Who Should Apply?
The program is designed for nurses who wish to balance graduate education with career, family and personal responsibilities. All nurse practitioner graduates are eligible to apply for advanced-practice certification. Specialty tracks within the program are Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner and Gerontological Nurse Practitioner.

Courses and Residencies
The online M.S.N. Nurse Practitioner program allows students to complete the didactic portion of the program online via Internet based technology and fulfill the required clinical practice component within their geographical locations.  Throughout the program students receive technical support, access to extensive library resources and personalized consultation with faculty.The program requires three on campus weekend residency visits which provides students with opportunities to meet face-to-face with professors, peers, and program administrators.
