How Do I Apply? To apply to the online M.S.N. - Nurse Practitioner program:
When Will You Make a Decision on My Application?
We will make a decision within 2 weeks of receiving your completed application and documents. Admission to the online graduate nursing program is contingent upon favorable review of all required materials and an admission (personal) interview.
Application Documentation
It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit all required materials. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt of all of the following:
- A completed application form and $50 application fee made payable to Seton Hall University College of Nursing. For electronic (online) applications, you may pay by credit card.
- A personal statement explaining how a program of master’s-level study will help you achieve your personal and professional goals within the scope of the program objectives. This may be submitted as an attachment to the electronic application.
- A current resume or curriculum vitae. This may be submitted as an attachment to the electronic application.
- Two letters of recommendation from instructors, supervisors or professional colleagues, with a minimum of a master’s degree in nursing, who are qualified to evaluate your professional nursing experience, academic competence and potential to undertake a master’s-level degree.
- These should be completed in confidence by your chosen reference provider and sealed inside an envelope before being returned to you. Your reference should sign the back of the envelope (over the seal) as evidence that it has not been opened.
- Official transcripts covering all academic work completed to date. They may be obtained by contacting the Registrar’s Office at each college or university you have attended. Transfer credits listed on another school’s transcript are not acceptable for evaluation. International students must provide official transcripts from WES or other Seton Hall University approved college credit evaluators. (See listing under International Admission)
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores for applicants whose native language is not English. Exempt are applicants with a degree from a U.S. accredited college or university.
