Admissions

Admission to the online graduate nursing program is contingent upon favorable review of all required materials. It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit all required materials. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt of all of the following:

  • All official college transcripts
  • Official copy of the MAT or GRE scores
  • Resume (may be submitted as an attachment to the electronic application or mailed to the College of Nursing)
  • A typewritten statement of goals that reflect the program objectives. Complete the statement of goals form and attach to the electronic application or mail the form to the College of Nursing.
  • Two letters of recommendation from instructors, supervisors or professional colleagues with a minimum of a master's degree in nursing who are qualified to evaluate your professional nursing experience, academic competence, and potential for the proposed field of study. These are to be submitted in sealed envelopes with the evaluator's signature along the envelope seal.
  • Proof of current licensure as a registered nurse
  • Proof of malpractice insurance
  • Proof of completion of basic statistics course and an undergraduate nursing research course
  • A completed application form and a $ 50 non-refundable application fee (personal check or money order payable to Seton Hall University College of Nursing). For electronic (online) applications, you may pay by credit card.

How Do I Apply?

To apply to the online M.S.N. – Health Systems Administration (HSA) Program:

  1. Submit an Online Application
  2. Mail your application documentation to the Admission Committee address given here
  3. Remit the $50 (U.S.) application fee

Transcripts and MAT or GRE scores:

Contact the Registrar's Office from each college or university and the MAT or GRE office and arrange to have your official transcripts and scores sent directly to:

Admissions Criteria and Prerequisites

  • Graduation from an NLN-accredited baccalaureate program in Nursing
  • Cumulative "B" average plus a "B" average in nursing courses (B average is a 3.0 GPA)
  • A score at or above average level for graduate nursing students on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT). Satisfactory
  • Graduate Record Exams (GRE) scores are also acceptable.
  • A resume and goal statement that reflect the program objectives
  • Two letters of recommendation from instructors and professional supervisors
  • Proof of current licensure as a registered nurse
  • Proof of current malpractice insurance
  • Completion of a basic statistics course and an undergraduate nursing research course.
