Learn the skills to apply various technology tools and online spaces available: Session I - Social Media, everyone is doing it, right?
Social Media gives us the ability to get our message to an unlimited audience in a quick and efficient manner. The real trick is how to make sure that message stands out from other digital messages received. During this session we will discuss what social media is, some of the ways it is being used and outline a plan of action for its effective use.
Session II - Communicate and Collaborate Through Blogs and Wikis
A blog can be the anchor for your social media strategy, while Wikis, on the other hand, provide project teams with a highly flexible medium for internal collaboration. This workshop will cover adding and editing entries as well as including media on a WordPress site. We will discuss customization and adding widgets along with integrating Twitter and Facebook. With regards to Wikis, we will look at a few of the most common platforms and brainstorm ideas on maximizing wiki potential in an organization or business.
Sessions III & IV - The Players: Tools to Leverage the Power of Community (Part 1&2)
These two courses will lead participants in how to connect and expand their online presence. Hands-on experience with popular social media tools including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn will be explored. Participants will learn how to apply these tools to fulfill specified goals as well as making them work together.
Session V - But how do I know that it works: using data to check your effectiveness
This session will walk participants through the many free and paid tools, which speak to the analytical side of using social media. We will explore how to get the data, how to analyze the data and how to interpret the data you need to sustain your effective use of social media.
