Continuing Education and Professional Studies

The SetonWorldWide Online Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration is a nonmatriculating program, designed for individuals who would like to explore a career in healthcare administration, who already have a graduate degree but need to develop specific management skills, and/or would like to enroll in a selected set of graduate healthcare administration courses, but do not want to commit to enrolling in the Master of Healthcare Administration degree program.

Who Should Apply?

While mid-to-senior level professionals in health care and related fields comprise the larger number of applicants, individuals who are highly motivated and disciplined, and who have earned a baccalaureate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university, are welcome to apply for admissions consideration.

Admissions Criteria and Prerequisites

Anyone with a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is eligible to apply for admission to the SetonWorldWide Online Graduate Certificate Program. In most cases, applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or better and a written essay that demonstrates graduate-level writing are admitted into the SetonWorldWide Graduate Certificate Program.

Applicants who have earned a terminal degree, such as M.D., Ed.D., Ph.D. Pharm.D. or J.D., are automatically accepted into the program once required admissions documents have been submitted to the M.H.A. Admissions Committee.

It is receipt of your completed online application that allows the University to reserve space in our next learning team and until we can obtain all required documents for review by our Admissions Committee. Completed online applications are generally processed for admissions consideration within two to three weeks.

To apply for admission, click on the link at the top of the page or call 1-888-SETON-WW (1-888-738-6699) for more information.

Tuition

The cost per credit for the online Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration program is $795 (or $2,385 for a three-credit course). The total program cost for the 15-credit certificate is $11,925, which covers all fees and expenses, tuition, room and meals for one on-campus residency and graduation fees. The tuition does not include the $50 admissions application fee, your personal travel expenses, books, computer equipment, software and Internet access.

Upon acceptance of your application, you will be required to make a nonrefundable $500 deposit on the full tuition. This deposit reserves your space in a learning team and covers the cost of the orientation residency.

Throughout the program, you will be billed six times. In order to progress in the program, payment must be received in full by due date stated on the tuition bill.

Online courses or those taught under comprehensive fee-based structures are not eligible for tuition discounts.

Loans

As a "non-matriculating" academic program, the Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Administration does not qualify for federal student loans.

Tuition Reimbursement

Applicants may qualify for full or partial tuition employer reimbursement. Check with your employer for more information. Tuition reimbursement is typically processed at the end of a semester.  If you are offered reimbursement, you will still be responsible for initial payments on your tuition. We recommend that you use loans to pay on time.
