Learning Communities
As an online student, you are the core of our learning community. Within the program, you take on the role of learning team member, interacting with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and learning from faculty, who are experts in their fields. Three on-campus residencies provide face-time with your peers as well as faculty interaction, which allow you to truly put a face with a name. You'll get to know one another and work together -- sharing backgrounds, professional experiences and different values. As a result, you'll foster lifelong professional and personal networks.

Prior to the beginning of class, you'll be notified of the textbooks and course materials required to complete your coursework. You will be able to purchase your course materials online through the Seton Hall Bookstore.  And completing your coursework is easy -- all you need is a computer with an Internet connection. You simply log on to access assignments, download files or post messages to a computer conference/discussion.

If you haven't already participated in computer conferences, it's as effortless as sending and reading e-mail messages. The dialogue between you and fellow learning team members -- facilitated by an instructor, who serves as a moderator and provides feedback -- is how online learning takes place. You log in anytime you can participate, from wherever you are. (We encourage you to sign on at least once a day to see others' responses to your thoughts and comments.) Our instructional team is in the "classroom" mix as well, constantly interacting with your learning team. Our dedicated faculty spends nearly twice as much time with online students than they do in a traditional classroom setting.

Once you earn your credential from the University, we know you'll want to stay connected. The Seton Hall University alumni Web site allows you to continue to interact, keep up-to-date on University happenings, and be informed of career opportunities post-graduation.

We're proud to say that Seton Hall alumni work in a variety of different positions, organizations, and geographic locations - and remain a part of the Seton Hall family. Just as students come to Seton Hall's campus each year for a traditional college experience, online degree students come together in learning team cohorts and work together for the duration of the program. This specialized learning team approach provides a supportive environment and cultivates lasting relationships.
