Hired in 2006, Dr. Orenstein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences.

Hired in 2006, Dr. Orenstein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computing and Decision Sciences, where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, Quantitative Methods for Business and Supply Chain Management. In her work as instructor, she has introduced several innovations in her coursework, including the use of Camtasia software to enhance the laboratory learning experience. This innovation formed the core of a pioneering online course in Quantitative Methods which was piloted in June 2010. Dr Orenstein has introduced an undergraduate certificate in Supply Chain Management and has been responsible for the creation and deployment of a new concentration in Supply Chain Management at the MBA level.

Dr. Orenstein's research interests center on mobility management in transportation networks, optimization methods applied to supply chain management and computer aided learning of quantitative material. Her research, which includes both contributions to theory and practice and to the scholarship of teaching, has appeared in the Journal of Networks and Spatial Economics and Wireless Personal Communications. She has also presented her work both at INFORMS, MSOM and the European Modeling Symposium. In addition, her work on the application of new teaching methods was featured at the NBEA 2010 Conference on Business Education. 

She is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2010 URC Award for her work on the application of Healthcare data to supply chain management, the 2010 Online TLTR award for her Online Course in Quantitative Methods as well Stillman Research Achievement Awards from 2007 to 2010 and a Stillman Teaching Award in 2009.
