Vikram N. Dayalu, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Associate Professor

Department of Speech-Language Pathology

I specialize in the treatment of adults and children who stutter and study stuttering reduction via sensory modalities.

Profile

Over the last six years at Seton Hall University, I have taught courses in Fluency Disorders, Research Methods, Speech Sciences, and Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech Systems. Prior to this, I was at East Carolina University where I received my Ph.D. in Communication Disorders. I have an undergraduate and graduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and my clinical interests are in the areas of stuttering and voice disorders.

I oversee the Speech Science and Swallowing Laboratory. My research interests are four fold: a) the influence of sensory modalities on the speech production of adults and children in both normal and stuttering population, b) acoustic, motoric, and psychosomatic aspects related to parent-child communication in children who stutter, c) testing speech perception-production interactions from an action observation-execution paradigm, and d) evaluating treatment efficacy in a variety of clinical populations.
