Marta Deyrup

Marta M. Deyrup, Ph.D.

Professor/Head of Technical Services

University Libraries

Dr. Deyrup's research focuses on digital scholarship, scholarly communication, and Slavic librarianship.

I serve as head of technical services at the library, and am the subject specialist for Classics, Modern Languages, the Russian and East European Studies Program and the Valente Italian Library. I also serve with Anthony Lee as the subject specialist for English.

Because I have my doctorate in Slavic and East European Languages and Literatures, I write for the most part about Slavic librarianship, although I also write on issues concerning digital scholarship, information literacy and scholarly communication. I've served as the editor of the quarterly journal, Library Administration and Management, as a digital consultant and as academic library consultant to the Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. My research interests overlap with Beth Bloom, and the two of us have partnered on many projects together, the most recent being a grant funded by Google to investigate how undergraduates do research.
