Ellen D. Mandel, DMH, PA-C
Associate Professor
School of Health and Medical Sciences
Teaching physician assistant students is a privilege which I take seriously, as they are our future.
Profile
I have been teaching physician assistant students (PA) for nine years and am beginning my fifth year at Seton Hall University's PA Program. I have been working in health care for more than thirty years, wearing many hats such as a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator and hospital administrator. I received my Master of Physician Assistant from the Rutgers/UMDNJ PA Program and consider it one of my best decisions. I recently completed my Doctor of Medical Humanities from Drew University, which has rounded out my strong science background and permits me to better weave together the art and science of medicine for our PA students' education. My classroom work is supplemented by "moonlighting" at a large multi-specialty physician practice.
My interests include endocrine disorders, nutrition, behavioral medicine and complimentary and alternative medicine (CAM). I publish, lecture and enjoy teaching on these topics. Additionally, I have a wonderful family and enjoy traveling with them to over 30 countries to date.
