Profile
I have been the Research Methods instructor for the Physician Assistant Program since my arrival at Seton Hall University in 2006. I am also a course coordinator and lecturer in Fundamentals of Clinical Medicine (the course in Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology for the Physician Assistant students). Other teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Clinical Medicine I and II, Clinical and Diagnostic Methods, and Health Care Policy. I am also a Director of Clinical Education, coordinating and assessing the clinical education of physician assistant students in rotations at hospitals and private offices across New Jersey. In addition, I teach a section of Journey of Transformation, a signature course for freshmen within the University's core curriculum.
My education and experience encompass diverse areas of academic medicine including research methodology, curriculum design, instructional technology, student assessment,and the unique needs of adult learners. My doctoral dissertation examined the effect of a problem-based learning curriculum on performance on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE).
I am a feature editor for the Journal of Physician Assistant Education, and a peer reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. I currently practice as a physician assistant with the Family Practice of Central Jersey in Freehold, NJ and New Hope Foundation in Marlboro, NJ.
