Beth Torcivia

Elizabeth M. Torcivia, Ph.D., OTR

Associate Professor

Department of Occupational Therapy

I am dedicated to the preparation of quality Occupational Therapists to meet the needs of New Jersey consumers.

I have been teaching at Seton Hall University in the Occupational Therapy program since it opened. I'm proud of the program graduates and the contributions they are making in the state and across the country. Our program produces caring, well-prepared therapists, and being part of that process is an important part of my life.

My scholarly activities center around the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. I'm continuing to develop a series of case studies to generate a multimedia series for publication. Other scholarly activities include publications on clinical reasoning and promoting advanced clinical reasoning in occupational therapy students and practitioners. I'm also very active in the New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association, and am currently the Education Chair, responsible for the annual conference.

My clinical interests include ongoing work in pediatrics especially in schools, and a new interest in supporting elders to remain in the community.
